Different Excercises

Under described physical activities are commonly prescribed for weight loss on permanent basis.

Reading and watching TV

Probably most of us do not consider it a exercise but infact it is a physical activity as there is a lot of brain activity involved in the process as lot of thinking process is involved in the activty. watchtv There is 1-2 calorie burn per minute during watching TV and reading. Increased brain activity requires more carbohydrates so there is increased number of calories burned. This activity is insufficient for the weight loss as loss of fat and alories is minimal.

Light Housework

Light housework includes dusting, washing or gardening. This type of activity burns 2-3 calories per minute. This type of exercise is not ideal to lose weight at a rapid pace but it can enhance the fat metabolism, if considered as exercise and done on regular basis. A weight loss program cannot be based on this type of exercises but it can be a metabolism speeding activity and is ideal to intiate such program.


Walking

Walking is an ideal exercise for fast and healthy weight loss as it loses maximum amount of body fat a full account on walking can be read in best exercise for weight loss.

Aerobic exercise

This type of exercise involves oxygen based fastening of fat metabolism. But when done at a pace it becomes unfit for losing weight, as most of the burning fuel is carbohydrates not fat. So it is not advisable at start as it less effective for weight loss but can help in maintaing weight after initial cut down.

Running

It is defined as 7minutes a mile physical activity. It is a vigourous type of physical activity. A lots of energy is involved in the running process. As immediate source of enrgy is required in this so most of the burning fuel is carbohydrates. Almost 80% of the burning fuel is carbohydrates and only 20% of the fat is utilzed for energy. Though 10 calories per min can be burned in this type of exercise but it is not ideal for weight loss.

Sprinting or weight training

This is most hard type of exercise, which one can perform. The energy for the exerrcise is exclusively from the carbohydrates. This is also called anaerobic exercise because process of glycolysis is involved in energy production process. Almost no fat metabolism is involved in this type of exercise. But it is useful in the speeding fat metabolism at rest so one should include a light tinch of such exercise in the weight loss program adapted but on physicians advice only.
