Endermologie is a new procedure devised in the recent past to have effective weight loss. It is basically a suction procedure and is meant for temporary weight loss. The integral part of this procedure is the device used for the Endermologie. The device is a hand held massager with a suction device. The device consists of a treatment head with two motorized rollers. The working of device is based on the compression of fat tissue between two rollers. The mechanism by which the fat tissue is lessened is not exactly known but it has good temporary results. It can be efficiently used to enhance looks which are damaged due to excessive fat tissue. The temporary use of this device has been approved by the FDA. Good results depend upon the number of treatments. Normally it takes 10 to 20 treatments to get effective weight loss. There are also 1-2 treatments required in a month to maintain that result. An average cost of Endermologie session ranges from 40-70 dollars in various areas and clinics. The procedure of Endermologie is somewhat tricky and person performing this procedure should be trained. One should also consult his or her physician before undergoing this procedure. Infact this is a cosmetic procedure instead of a weight loss procedure as it decreases fat from the treated part temporarily. Fat can be regained if it is not exercised properly at regular basis. Normally there are no obvious hazards attached with it but sometimes the problem of tissue compression can be there or a vessel supplying blood to that particular area can get damaged which may result in tissue damage or a hematoma. So it should be performed with care and after physician advice.
