Diet we take usually is not a single entity it is a set of different edibles. So when we talk of diet we usually mean of a diet plan. In simple words when we choose or are advised by a dietitian a weight loss diet we are actually given a proper diet plan to follow. In therapeutics terms word “diet” and “diet plan” are similar. Formula diet gives some specific combination of proteins, carbohydrates and fats which is compatible with body needs. Fat content of theses formula diets is kept usually very low. Formula diets give short term weight loss results setting in quite early as compared to other diet plans. They are used as replacement of one or more regular daily meals. Specific Nutrient Diet

Some diet plans are based on the use of a single specific nutrient or some multiple specific nutrients use of which can bestow weight loss but at the cost of your health. Mostly this type of diet plan lacks the proper caloric value required for normal functioning of body. There is obvious weight loss but along with that some internal disease process ensues. So this type of diet plan should be usually avoided.
